We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Account Officer

Location: Sangotedo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

  • The Account Officer is responsible for managing the financial transactions and records of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. 
  • This role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports, and supporting the finance team with various accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Process invoices, verify approvals, and ensure timely payment to vendors.
  • Maintain accurate records of vendor information and payment history.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Generate invoices and track outstanding payments from clients.
  • Follow up on overdue accounts and escalate collection efforts as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of client information and payment history.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing procedures.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Support the finance team with various accounting tasks and projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field, preferably in the real estate industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
