Job Summary

• We are looking for an experienced Store Keeper in the construction sector to manage and oversee the storage and distribution of materials and equipment. 
• The ideal candidate will ensure accurate inventory management, maintain organized storage facilities, and ensure the safe handling of materials while supporting the project teams effectively.

Responsibilities
Inventory Management:

• Maintain accurate records of all stored materials, tools, and equipment using inventory management software.
• Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy in stock levels.
• Implement a systematic method for tracking stock movements in and out of the store.

Receiving and Inspection:

• Manage the receipt of materials and equipment, ensuring that they meet quality and quantity specifications.
• Conduct inspections to verify that incoming shipments match purchase orders and report any discrepancies or damages.

Storage and Organization:

• Organize and maintain the storage area to ensure efficient access to materials and equipment.
• Implement best practices for the safe handling and storage of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.

Distribution:

• Coordinate the distribution of materials to various project sites in a timely manner, ensuring minimal delays.
• Monitor material usage on-site to anticipate and request re-stocking as necessary.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain up-to-date records of inventory levels, orders, receipts, and deliveries.
• Prepare regular reports on inventory status and material usage for management review.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and procurement teams to align on material needs and delivery schedules.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of material requirements for upcoming projects.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in the storage area and during the handling of materials.
• Participate in safety training and promote a culture of safety in the workplace.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Inventory Accuracy: Maintain inventory accuracy levels of at least X% with minimal discrepancies.
• Stock Turnover Rate: Ensure a stock turnover rate that meets or exceeds industry standards, ideally maintaining a rate of X times per month/quarter.
• Material Availability:Achieve planned material availability of at least X% for all projects without significant delays.
• Safety Incidents: Maintain a safety incident rate of 0% regarding material handling and storage within the store.
• Documentation Timeliness: Ensure that 100% of inventory records, reports, and documentation are completed and submitted on time.

Requirements
Education:

• Minimum of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (essential).
• Additional certifications in inventory management or safety management will be an added advantage.

Experience:

• 3 - 5 years of experience as a Store Keeper or similar role in the construction industry.
• Proven track record of effective inventory management and material handling.

Competencies:

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
