Job Title: Waiter

Location: Surulere, Lagos

Job Summary

• The Waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service to patrons in the canteen. 
• This includes taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. 
• The Waiter must maintain a clean and organized work environment and adhere to health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly, efficient service.
• Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations upon request.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders from customers and relay orders to kitchen staff.
• Serve food and beverages to customers in a timely manner.
• Ensure the presentation of food and beverages meets canteen standards.
• Monitor and attend to customers' needs throughout their dining experience.
• Ensure that all utensils, dishes, and surfaces are clean and sanitized.
• Assist in setting up and dismantling dining areas for special events and functions.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and other wait staff to ensure a seamless dining experience.
• Communicate effectively with team members to address any customer issues or concerns.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the Canteen Manager.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess an SSCE / OND qualification with 0 - 3 years experience
• Previous experience as a waiter or in a customer service role preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent service.
• Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
• Age grade: 23 -28 years.
