Job Title: Civil Engineer (NYSC)

Job Description

• We are currently seeking a motivated and talented Civil Engineer to join our team through the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, and buildings.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to ensure compliance with project specifications and timelines.
• Participate in site assessments, surveys, and inspections to monitor construction progress and quality.
• Support the preparation of engineering calculations, design drawings, and project documentation.
• Conduct research on materials, technologies, and best practices to ensure project efficiency and sustainability.
• Help coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to facilitate project completion.
• Assist in evaluating project risks and developing strategies for mitigation.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards throughout all phases of the project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Recent graduates who are ready to begin their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.

Experience:

• Previous internships or practical training in civil engineering or related fields are advantageous.
• Familiarity with project management processes and construction methods is a plus.

Measurable Feedback:

• Performance in this role will be evaluated based on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as:
• Quality and accuracy of engineering designs and reports.
• Adherence to project timelines and deadlines for deliverables.
• Effectiveness in collaborating with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to new challenges and learning opportunities within a project context.

Competencies:

• Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
• Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for effective project assessment and implementation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
