Job Summary

• An Agric Trainee is an entry-level position designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in agricultural operations.
• The trainee will assist in various farming activities, learn about modern agricultural techniques, and develop skills in crop production, irrigation management, soil health, and farm machinery operation.

Responsibilities

• Field Operations:
  • Assist in planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
  • Learn and apply modern farming techniques to improve productivity.
  • Participate in soil preparation and fertilization activities.

• Irrigation & Water Management:

  • Support the operation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
  • Learn to monitor soil moisture levels and adjust irrigation schedules.

• Farm Machinery & Equipment:

  • Assist in the operation and basic maintenance of tractors, harvesters, and other farm equipment.
  • Learn to identify and report equipment faults.

• Pest & Disease Control:

  • Monitor crops for pests and diseases.
  • Assist in the application of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers under supervision.

• Record Keeping & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of farming activities, including crop yields, soil conditions, and inputs used.
  • Prepare basic reports on farm operations and progress.

• Training & Development:

  • Participate in training sessions on agricultural best practices.
  • Learn about sustainable farming methods and new technologies in agriculture.

• Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere to farm safety procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and work in a team environment.

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
• Recent graduates or individuals with minimal work experience are encouraged to apply.

Technical Skills:

• Basic knowledge of crop production, soil health, and irrigation systems.
• Understanding of farm machinery operation (preferred but not required).
• Willingness to learn about pest control and fertilizer application.

Soft Skills:

• Strong willingness to learn and adapt.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
