Job Title: Tax Accountant

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

• Responsible for managing all tax-related activities, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and optimizing the company's tax position.

Responsibilities
Tax Compliance and Reporting:

• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations specific to the oil and gas sector.
• Manage tax audits and coordinate with tax authorities.

Financial Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper documentation for all tax-related transactions.
• Reconcile tax accounts and prepare necessary journal entries.

Tax Planning and Strategy:

• Develop tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
• Advise management on the tax implications of business decisions and transactions.

Regulatory Updates:

• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the construction and oil and gas industries.
• Implement necessary changes to ensure ongoing compliance.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with other departments, such as finance and legal, to gather necessary information for tax filings.
• Coordinate with external auditors and consultants as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar industry field
• Familiar with industry-specific tax issues and regulations.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary
N700,000 - N800,000 Monthly
