Job Title: Cardiologist

Location: Surulere, Lagos

Reports to: Department Head, Medical Director, or Chief of Cardiology

Job Summary

• Diagnose and treat disorders and diseases of the heart and cardiovascular system, providing high-quality patient care and promoting cardiovascular health.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Evaluation: Evaluate patients with cardiovascular symptoms, performing physical exams, reviewing medical histories, and ordering diagnostic tests.
• Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnose cardiovascular conditions, developing and implementing treatment plans, including medications, procedures, and lifestyle modifications.
• Invasive and Non-Invasive Procedures: Perform invasive and non-invasive procedures, such as angioplasty, stenting, echocardiography, and stress testing.
• Cardiac Rehabilitation: Develop and implement cardiac rehabilitation programs to help patients recover from cardiovascular events and procedures.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on cardiovascular disease, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaboration with Other Healthcare Professionals: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, and other specialists, to provide comprehensive care.
• Research and Staying Current: Stay current with the latest advances in cardiology, participating in research studies, attending conferences, and reading industry publications.

Education and Qualifications

• Medical Degree: Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited medical school.
• Residency and Fellowship: Completion of a residency program in internal medicine and a fellowship program in cardiology.
• Licensure and Certification: Licensure to practice medicine in the state and certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in cardiology.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in cardiology, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.

• Emotional Intelligence and Empathy: High level of emotional intelligence and empathy, with ability to provide compassionate care to patients and their families.
• Staying Current with Medical Advances: Commitment to staying current with the latest advances in cardiology, including new technologies, treatments, and research findings.

• Hospital or Clinical Setting: Work in a hospital or clinical setting, with exposure to infectious diseases and other health risks.

• Irregular Schedule: Irregular schedule, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Salary
N1,500,000 Monthly.
