Account Assistant at the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN)

The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) believes the Bible is for all Nigerians. Traditionally, the work of the BSN is to make the Bible available and affordable. The Society has come to see that provision of the printed text, however well-presented, is only a part of the task. To achieve the most effective and meaningful distribution, the BSN also recognizes the need to develop programmes, using all forms of media to stimulate and facilitate encounter with the biblical text in Churches and public places. We actualize our mission through five major functions, namely: Translation, Publishing, Distribution, Programmes and Fundraising.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Account Assistant

Location: Mainland, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• Maintenance of petty/cash float.
• Raising of payment vouchers and cheques.
• Posting of payment vouchers, bank deposit tellers, salary journal and cash retirement journals.
• Monthly preparation of bank accounts reconciliation statement.
• Reconciliation of account receivables, payable and statutory deductions.
• Reconciliation of staff loan and advances for all types of advances available in the organisation.
• Confirmation of bank lodgements.
• Preparation of income & expenditure report.
• Any other job assigned and compliance with deadline is a very important aspect of your job.

Personnel Specification

• A candidate for this job must have an OND in Accounting or an AAT with a minimum of 1 years’ experience.
• Should possess analytical and receptive thinking, with good effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Accounting package will be an added advantage.
