Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced Iron Bender Supervisor to lead and oversee iron bending operations for construction projects inswampy,waterlogged, andmarine environments.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of iron benders, ensuring all work is carried out according to the project specifications, safety standards, and quality guidelines
• TheIron Bender Supervisorwill also be responsible for ensuring the reinforcement iron work is completed on time and to the highest standards while adapting to the unique challenges presented by these difficult environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision and Leadership:Supervise, guide, and motivate a team of iron benders, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all iron bending and reinforcement tasks in the construction project.
• Project Coordination:Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction teams to ensure the seamless integration of ironwork into the overall project schedule and progress.
• Quality Control:Monitor and ensure the bending, shaping, and installation of rebar and steel is done according to structural drawings and project specifications. Ensure compliance with quality standards, including verification of the integrity and alignment of reinforcement bars.
• Material Management:Ensure the proper handling, storage, and preparation of iron and steel materials. Oversee the safe and efficient use of materials, minimizing waste and ensuring resources are used effectively.
• Safety Management:Enforce safety protocols and standards, ensuring the safe use of tools and equipment on-site. Conduct regular safety checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations, particularly for working in swampy, waterlogged, or marine environments.
• Inspection and Reporting:Conduct inspections of the completed reinforcement works, ensuring all bending and installation meet the required specifications. Maintain detailed records of work completed, including any deviations from the original plans, and provide reports to senior management.
• Training and Development:Provide training to iron benders and other site workers on best practices for bending and shaping rebar, ensuring all team members are knowledgeable about safety procedures, tools, and techniques.
• Problem-Solving:Identify and address any issues or challenges that arise on-site regarding iron bending work, making adjustments to meet project specifications and deadlines.
• Environmental Considerations:Ensure that iron and steel materials are protected from environmental hazards such as corrosion, rust, and moisture, particularly inswampyormarine environments.
• Coordination with Other Teams:Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other teams (e.g., concrete pouring teams) to ensure that the iron reinforcement work is well-coordinated and integrated into the construction schedule.
• Tool and Equipment Maintenance:Oversee the maintenance and care of bending tools and equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly and safely for the task at hand.
• Documentation and Compliance:Ensure proper documentation of work progress, including daily reports on tasks completed, materials used, and work performed. Maintain compliance with local regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 8 yearsof experience iniron bending, with at least2-3 yearsin a supervisory or leadership role, particularly in construction projects involvingswampy,waterlogged, ormarine environments.
• Technical Skills:Strong knowledge and experience with bending, shaping, and reinforcing rebar and steel bars in compliance with structural drawings and specifications.
• Leadership Skills:Proven experience leading and supervising a team, with excellent communication skills to effectively manage personnel and collaborate with other departments.
• Safety Awareness:Extensive knowledge ofconstruction safetypractices and protocols, especially in environments with water exposure, unstable ground, and difficult terrain. Certification in safety (e.g.,OSHA,NEBOSH) is preferred.
• Problem-Solving:Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues on-site and quickly implement corrective actions to prevent delays or accidents.
• Attention to Detail:Ability to work with precision, ensuring that all ironwork is accurately bent, shaped, and positioned according to project specifications.
• Material Knowledge:Understanding of the effects of water, humidity, and exposure to moisture on steel reinforcement and the steps necessary to prevent rust and corrosion in swampy or marine conditions.
• Tools and Equipment Proficiency:Experience in using and maintaining iron bending equipment and tools, such as manual and hydraulic benders, cutting tools, and other necessary machinery.
• Physical Requirements:Ability to work in challenging conditions, includingswampy,waterlogged, ormarineenvironments, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Certification:Relevant construction or welding certifications (e.g.,OSHA), and certifications in welding and rebar installation are preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in Marine or Wetland Construction:Experience working with reinforcement steel in construction projects inmarine environmentsorwetlands, and familiarity with the specific challenges these environments present.
• Knowledge of Corrosion Protection:Understanding of the methods and techniques to protect ironwork from rust and corrosion, particularly when exposed to moisture or waterlogged conditions.
• Project Management Skills:Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with different teams, ensuring that the reinforcement work is completed on time and within budget.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in difficult and sometimes hazardous environments, includingwaterlogged,swampy, ormarine areas.
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy materials and work long hours on-site.
