Job Title: Construction Project Manager

Location: Ikoyi, Lagos

Position Overview

• We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Construction Project Manager to lead our construction projects, ensuring successful delivery from initiation through to completion.
• The ideal candidate will possess a blend of engineering expertise and project management skills and must hold a certification as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Project Management Professional (PMP).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage construction projects ensuring completion within budget, scope, and on schedule.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, milestones, timelines, and resource needs.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure all project specifications and regulatory requirements are met.
• Monitor project progress and performance, addressing any issues that arise to keep projects on track.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to construction standards.
• Perform risk assessments and implement strategies to mitigate project risks.
• Communicate project status, updates, and challenges to stakeholders, including clients and upper management.
• Prepare detailed budget estimates and track project expenditures, ensuring financial control.
• Oversee procurement processes for construction materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with specifications.
• Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and recommend improvements for future projects.

Measurable KPIs

• Percentage of projects completed on or ahead of schedule.
• Budget variance percentage for each project (measured against original budget estimates).
• Number of safety incidents reported on site.
• Quality control pass rate (measured by inspections and client feedback).
• Stakeholder satisfaction score derived from feedback surveys upon project completion.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Charitable Engineer (CEng) certification is essential.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.

Experience:

• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction project management, specifically in real estate or commercial projects.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale projects from initiation to completion.
• Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and fostering collaboration.

Competencies:

• Strong leadership and team management skills with the capability to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing conditions and make strategic decisions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders across all levels.
• Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and construction management tools.
• In-depth understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
