Job Title: Senior Business Development Manager (B2B)

Location: Mainland, Lagos

Job Summary

  • The Senior Business Development Manager (B2B) at our Company is responsible for spearheading high-value business growth within Nigeria's oil & gas, manufacturing, and industrial sectors. 
  • This role demands an experienced professional with an extensive network in International Oil Companies (IOCs), National Oil Companies (NOCs), and top manufacturing firms. 
  • The ideal candidate must possess a proven ability to secure high-value contracts, manage key accounts, and establish strategic partnerships to expand the company’s market share in the PPE and safety footwear industry.
  • This position requires sourcing and attending industry events related to oil & gas and manufacturing, leveraging these opportunities to build strong relationships that lead to business accounts and deal closures. 
  • The candidate must also proactively discover major oil & gas projects in the country and identify opportunities to enforce the NCDMB local content policy. 
  • Additionally, the Senior BDM must uncover projects where imported safety boots are being used instead of local alternatives and leverage such opportunities to promote the company’s locally manufactured products.
  • The candidate must have access to key decision-makers within target industries, possess strong networking skills, and be comfortable engaging clients in both formal and informal settings. Frequent travel and weekend work may be required to ensure the execution of key business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development & Partnerships:

  • Identify, pursue, and secure high-value contracts with IOCs, NOCs, large-scale manufacturing firms, and industrial companies.
  • Develop and execute a robust commercial strategy to penetrate and expand the company’s market presence within the PPE and safety footwear sector.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers at C-suite and procurement levels, ensuring long-term business engagements.
  • Actively seek out major oil & gas projects in Nigeria, particularly those where imported safety boots are being used, and position the company as the preferred local content alternative.
  • Drive strategic partnerships with major PPE distributors in the oil & gas and manufacturing sectors to increase the company’s distribution channels.

Revenue Growth & Sales Leadership:

  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets by securing large-scale contracts and high-value deals.
  • Lead complex contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms for the company while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Work closely with the finance team to structure competitive pricing models, invoice financing solutions, and seamless transaction processes.
  • Ensure the successful conversion of leads from industry events into long-term accounts and revenue-generating clients.

Market Expansion & Distributorship Management:

  • Develop and manage a robust nationwide distributorship network, ensuring efficient product distribution and market penetration.
  • Identify, onboard, and maintain relationships with key PPE distributors and bulk buyers within Nigeria’s oil & gas and manufacturing industries.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis, competitor intelligence, and industry trend tracking to optimize the company’s positioning and sales strategies.
  • Strengthen after-sales support and customer relationship management to drive repeat business and client satisfaction.

Industry Engagement & Networking:

  • Source and attend oil & gas and manufacturing industry events, exhibitions, trade shows, and networking functions to build strategic relationships and drive business development efforts.
  • Leverage formal and casual networking opportunities to connect with key stakeholders and reinforce the company’s brand presence.
  • Gain insider knowledge on upcoming industrial projects and procurement cycles to position the company for early contract consideration.

Key Account Management & Relationship Development:

  • Create and manage key accounts by developing structured engagement plans that drive client satisfaction and retention.
  • Establish direct communication channels with major clients, ensuring smooth transactions and quick resolution of any business concerns.
  • Position our company as the go-to supplier for safety footwear by fostering strong, trust-based relationships with industry leaders.

Travel & Availability:

  • Be available to travel nationwide and internationally as needed to close business deals and explore new market opportunities.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends to attend key industry events, trade shows, and client meetings that align with business growth objectives.

Other Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Business Development Manager (B2B) at our Company plays a mission-critical role in expanding the company’s footprint within Nigeria’s oil & gas and manufacturing sectors. 
  • This role requires a results-driven leader with exceptional networking abilities, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate high-stakes procurement processes. 
  • The successful candidate will be instrumental in securing multi-billion-naira contracts, building key industry relationships, and positioning our company as the foremost supplier of safety footwear and PPE in Nigeria.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of revenue and contract acquisition targets.
  • Expansion and optimization of the distributorship network.
  • Numbers of high-value partnerships secured in the oil & gas and manufacturing sectors.
  • Conversion rate of leads from industry events into long-term clients.
  • Market penetration and increase in the company’s share within target industries.
  • Performance of key accounts in terms of retention and revenue generation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of B2B business development experience, preferably in PPE, industrial safety equipment, or manufacturing.
  • Established contacts and access to key decision-makers in IOCs, NOCs, and top manufacturing companies.
  • Proven ability to secure and manage large-scale contracts and drive exponential business growth.
  • Strong negotiation, strategic planning, and relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing a nationwide distributorship network.
  • Excellent market intelligence and ability to track and identify high-value industry opportunities.
  • Availability to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including weekends.

Salary
N500,000 - N700,000 / Month
