Job Description

• Conduct an analysis of the experiences, risks, and challenges for children - girls and boys, including disabled children and IDPs in the targeted states/communities.
• Conduct mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) and gender assessments at regular intervals.
• Support the team to identify and address the difficult issues of Mental illness, Child Sexual Abuse (CSA), and Gender-based violence (GBV) through culturally acceptable and age-appropriate content and highlighting the key role parents can play in protecting their children from CSA and GBV and responding to abuse.
• Support the team in establishing and strengthening referral mechanisms and linkages between the communities and health facilities for MHPSS and gender-based violence, including implementation ofclinicalpathways for the treatment of sexual assault survivors.
• Contribute to the documentation and dissemination of project efforts, achievements, lessons learned, and innovations within PHI and to the larger Nigerian and global community, as appropriate.
• Support the Facilitation of capacity development for community volunteers, child protection committees, and other key stakeholders on gender integration and child protection.
• Monitor andevaluateprogram performance on gender-related goals and objectives and contribute content for internal and external reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Psychology, Social Work, Gender Studies, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Gender and MHPSS programs, preferably in IDP settings.
• Strong understanding of MHPSS, gender equality, GBV prevention and response, and psychosocial support principles, especially in crisis-affected communities.
• Familiarity with international guidelines such as IASC MHPSS Guidelines, WHO Mental Health Guidelines, and GBV Minimum Standards in humanitarian settings.
• Experience in designing and executing MHPSS and gender-focused interventions for vulnerable populations, including IDPs.
• Proven ability to manage cases, engage stakeholders, and collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations working with displaced populations
