The Communications Officer is responsible for managing internal and external communications to enhance the bank’s brand image, drive engagement, and ensure effective dissemination of key messages.
This role involves developing and executing communication strategies, content creation, and media relations to support the bank’s objectives.
Key Roles andResponsibilities
Content Creation: Develop and create high-quality content for internal and external communication materials, including press releases, newsletters, blog posts, and social media updates.
Media Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to promote positive coverage of the bank. Respond to media inquiries and coordinate interviews or media events as necessary.
Brand Management: Ensure consistent messaging across all communication platforms and maintain the bank’s brand voice and identity.
Campaign Support: Assist in the development and execution of marketing and communications campaigns to promote the bank’s products, services, and initiatives.
Social Media Management: Manage the bank’s social media accounts, including content scheduling, community engagement, and performance analysis. Help build and maintain an online presence that aligns with the bank’s marketing strategy.
Internal Communications: Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure effective communication of key internal messages, policies, and employee engagement initiatives.
Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of corporate events, seminars, or conferences. Ensure effective communication and promotion of these events through various channels.
Crisis Communication: Assist in handling any communications during a crisis or sensitive situation, ensuring the bank’s message is clear, transparent, and timely.
Stakeholder Engagement: Assist in maintaining communication with key stakeholders, including customers, employees, partners, and the public, to ensure transparency and trust in the bank’s activities.
Monitoring and Reporting: Track media coverage and the effectiveness of communication campaigns, preparing reports and providing recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications / Skills
A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in a communications, public relations, or marketing role, preferably within a financial services or corporate environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging content.
Proficiency in social media platforms and digital content creation tools.
Experience with media relations and handling inquiries from journalists.
Knowledge of communication strategies and crisis management.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Gross AnnualSalary
N1,500,000 - N2,500,000 annually.
