Oversee and execute maintenance activities on mechanical systems and equipment:
Ensure optimal performance and reliability of all mechanical systems and equipment.
Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify maintenance needs.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and programs:
Create maintenance schedules that minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
Implement programs that address routine maintenance tasks and preventive measures.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly:
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems to prevent disruptions in operations.
Implement effective solutions to address any issues that arise.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company standards:
Adhere to safety protocols and regulations during all maintenance tasks.
Maintain compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs:
Document all maintenance activities, including inspections and repairs.
Keep detailed records of equipment performance and maintenance history.
Work closely with other departments and teams to coordinate maintenance activities:
Collaborate with various departments to ensure smooth operations.
Coordinate maintenance tasks to minimize disruption to other teams and processes.
Identify opportunities for improving maintenance practices:
Evaluate current maintenance practices and identify areas for improvement.
Recommend cost-effective solutions to enhance maintenance efficiency.
Provide training and guidance to maintenance technicians:
Offer training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of maintenance technicians.
Provide ongoing guidance and support to ensure high performance and compliance with standards.
Requirements
Academics:
HND / B.Sc / B. Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering-related disciplines.
Work Experience:
Not less than 10 years of hands-on experience in key rotating equipment.
Generators with demonstrated excellent skills in Technical report writing.
Technology/Equipment Competences:
Skilled at Caterpillar gas/diesel engine troubleshooting and repairs.
Skilled at EMSCO reciprocating pumps maintenance and repairs.
Skilled at National Oilwell reciprocating pumps maintenance and repairs.
Skilled at centrifugal pumps maintenance and repairs
Skilled at Atlas Copco and Gardener Denver instrument air compressor repair and maintenance
Skilled at use of Caterpillar diagnostic tools (ET, DDT, FUEL PUMP TIMING & MANO-METER)
Professional Certifications:
HSE Training Certificate (would be considered an added advantage)
NSE/COREN Membership (would be considered an added advantage)
Technical Skills (Added advantage):
Ability to demonstrate in-depth discipline expertise in the operation and maintenance of rotating equipment in remote locations.
Ability to review and analyze all equipment failure patterns.
Ability to trend failure patterns and offer permanent solutions.
Ability to work on engines (diesel & gas) and pumps without supervision.
Ability to lead and manage technical crew for field call-outs.
Support other Teams for intervention activities in utility power substations and locations.
Ability to carry out troubleshooting on diesel/gas engines and pumps.
Ability to carry out repair works on engine accessories (starter motor, butterfly assembly, diesel/gas engine fuel systems, emergency shutdown switches, etc.).
Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment (engines, pumps, compressors).
Ability to execute routine FLM (First Line Maintenance) checks on running equipment.
Support in conducting Fluid-End inspections on reciprocating pumps.
Ability to identify and use/operate specialist tools, including power and hand tools and machinery, to perform various inspections, repairs, and analyses on equipment.
Ability to use diagnostic tools during overhaul and troubleshooting (ET, DDT, Fuel Timing & Manometer).
Ability to provide technical support to contractors by analyzing and identifying mechanical potential problems.
Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Ability to coordinate with procurement for ordered spares and materials until delivery.
Ability to organize and carry out technical inspections with R&D for delivered orders, ensuring required certificates are enclosed.
Ability to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards during all maintenance activities.
Strong communication skills for collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth operations.
Ability to recommend cost-effective solutions for improving maintenance practices.
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing maintenance technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Ability to perform quality checks and ensure the teams meet necessary KPIs.
Ability to manage maintenance budgets and provide accurate budget estimates to various plant customers.
Proficiency in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), preferably SAP, for managing maintenance activities.
Ability to work in a high-paced environment with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
