Job description
The Technical Sales Manager will have the responsibility of administration of business accounts and product management within the designated region. He will assume full responsibility for all business aspects of both active and non-active customers, ensuring that all functions of the position are carried out efficiently in accordance with the guidelines and procedures of the Company.
He/she is to report to the Managing Director (West Africa) and Export Sales Manager South Africa
Responsibilities
- Provide tailor made commercial support to assigned customers
- Collect and analyze market information data on a regular basis
- Sale negotiations in accordance with the Company’s firm guidance
- Internal communication of customers needs from a technical and commercial point of view
- Create and sustain mutually beneficial relationships between the customers and the carrying of regular visits to product experts
- To communicate supply shortage/allocation to affected customers
- Support technical visits (of experts) and establishes/sustains/develops customer relationships
Qualifications:
- University degree in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Chemistry or alternatively in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- An MBA with Sales experience in the Chemical industry would be an advantage
- Must have a minimum of 2-3 years experience in Chemical/Plastics Industry
- Competency in Microsoft Office tools
- Must have strong communication and people skills
- Well organised, meticulous, excellent planning and prioritising skills
- Strong understanding of customer markets and technology in the industry
- Able to work under pressure
- Team oriented and outgoing
- Able to travel locally and internationally
- Proficiency in English and Local languages
