Job Title: Accountant

Job Description

• The Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the resort. 
• This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong accounting skills and a thorough understanding of financial principles. The Accountant will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain financial records, and support the financial health of the resort.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
• Manage payroll processing and related tax filings.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Provide financial analysis and reports to management.
• Monitor and control inventory levels, particularly for food, beverage, and retail items.
• Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Verify daily revenue transactions from various departments, including food and beverage, accommodations, and activities.
• Ensure accurate recording of revenue and sales.
• Analyze revenue trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard assets.
• Assist with audits and financial reviews.
• Assist with other accounting-related tasks as assigned by management.
• Work closely with department managers to provide financial support and guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of hospitality accounting practices is a strong plus.

Salary
N200,000 / Month.
