Job Summary

• Our client is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Finance Officer to manage financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payables, and receivables. 
• The ideal candidate must have proven experience in finance, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector, and must possess at least ICAN Level 2 certification or equivalent. Experience in using ERP systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and analysis as required by the management.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the processing of all accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
• ERP Management: Utilize ERP systems effectively for financial data management, reporting, and reconciliation.
• Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliation of bank statements and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure adherence to all statutory requirements and timely filing of tax-related reports.
• Internal Controls: Implement and monitor effective internal control systems to prevent financial discrepancies.
• General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, including journal entries and ledger postings.
• Expense Management: Monitor and control expenditure, ensuring compliance with approved budgets.
• Financial Audits: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documents and explanations.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare periodic financial analysis to provide insights into financial performance and suggest improvements.

Requirements

• Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certification: At least ICAN Level 2 certification or equivalent (e.g., ACCA).
• Experience: 2 – 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
• ERP Systems: Must be experienced in using ERP systems for financial reporting, budgeting, payables, and receivables management.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, budgeting, payables, and receivables management.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, SAGE).
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and propose effective solutions.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and strong organizational skills.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to work independently and in a team to resolve issues effectively.
• Ethics & Confidentiality: Strong integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.

Preferred Skills:

• Prior experience working in the Oil & Gas industry is highly desirable.
• Advanced knowledge of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with IFRS and GAAP standards.
