Job Title: College Librarian

Location: Okene, Kogi

Duties

• The College Librarian has responsibility for administering the College Library and providing Library Services to the entire College community.
• He/She reports to the Provost on day-to-day administration of the Library department

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates must possess a good Bachelor's Degree with a Master's in Library Science (MLS) from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least 15 years of cognate experience and registration with the Professional Library body. Or a PhD in Library and Information Science with at least 12 years of cognate work experience with evidence of registration with the Professional Library body.
• He/She must possess proficiency in Information and Communication
• Technology (ICT),
• Candidate must present evidence of sound human relations, Profession competence, Industrial integrity, efficient management of human and material resources.
• Candidates must be a Chief Librarian or Deputy College Librarian for a period of not less than five (5) years in a College of Education system.
• Candidate must show evidence of substantial contribution to knowledge through research and scholarly publications in reputable Journals equivalent to that of a Chief Lecturer.
• Candidates must not be more than 59 years old at the time of taking up the appointment.

Condition of Service

• The Condition of Service are the same as those obtainable in Federal Colleges of Education system in Nigeria. 
• Salary and other fringe benefits are as applicable to Principal Officers of Federal Colleges of Education.
