Baobab is an investment company whose mission is to create a group of leading microfinance banks and finance companies in at least 15 countries by 2015 that will provide financial services and savings products to entrepreneurs who lack access to the traditional financial sector. Baobab was created in July 2005 by PlaNet Finance and other investors, including International Finance Corporation, AXA Belgium, and Societe Generale, with the European Investment Bank, the French Development Agency and Developing World Markets joining later.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Network & System Engineer

Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Deliverables Responsibilities

• Ensure that the documentation of the network technical design/IP Schemes and relevant changes are up to date and that all documents are maintained correctly in the designated location.
• Install and maintain firewalls and establish and maintain company-wide access policies to the Internet.
• Design and manage the cloud infrastructure and deploy best-in-class architecture with fault tolerance.
• Administer existing and deploy new AWS EC2 instances and related infrastructure.
• Develop deployment, monitoring, reporting, and alerts scripts, ensuring a robust, redundant, scalable 100% uptime infrastructure.
• Monitor cloud resources for performance and cost optimisation.
• Collaborate with the Baobab Services/Group team on Network and cloud services deployment and ensure the full deployment meets the set standard.
• Deliver high-quality technical service to assist branches in network troubleshooting, project implementation, and day-to-day network operation within Nigeria
• Case handling upon fault escalation received from Service Desk/Regional IT Supports
• Ensuring compliance with security and data protection policies.
• Collaborate with third-party providers to keep the networks running efficiently.
• Ensure the deployment and functionality of Network Monitoring tools.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot wireless, security, switching, and other network-related issues on

Qualifications

• BSc. in Computer Science / Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Strong 5 years’ hands-on experience in Core networking in middle-large Internet Service Provider / Fintech / Switching /aggregator/integrator / Cloud Hosting provider environment.
• Fundamental understanding and hands-on experience with network technologies, including firewalls, content filters, routing/switching, VLANs, and 802.11a/b/g/n/ac wireless.
• Thoroughly comprehend fundamental networking protocols, including TCP/IP, Layer 2 & 3 network management, etc.
• Experience in supporting LANs, VLANs, WLANs, VPNs, NAT devices, &/or DHCP servers, Radius Server, One-Login, Palo Alto, AWS Networking (is required).
• Experience installing and troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks.
• Azure, AWS, and GCP training/skills. Certifications preferred
• Familiarity with IT Standards such as PCI-DSS, ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 is an added advantage.
• Familiarity with Change Management System
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and comprehension of the English language.
• Cisco CMNA – Certified Meraki Networking Associate required.
• Cisco CCNA certification is required.
