Job Title: IT Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• The IT Infrastructure Engineer ensures the seamless operation and security of the organization’s IT systems. 
• This role involves planning, implementing, and managing infrastructure projects while aligning IT capabilities with business needs. 
• The position is critical in ensuring system reliability and supporting organizational growth.

Role Responsibilities

• Ensure uniformity in the availability, optimal use and functionality of the entity’s IT Infrastructure and systems
• Direct the implementation and maintenance of the entity’s technology infrastructure in line with the company’s strategy and mandate
• Ensure the effective acquisition, deployment and management of IT resources, and the delivery of high-quality IT services to the entity
• Oversee cybersecurity measures to safeguard corporate data and systems.
• Monitor the organisation’s networks for security breaches and investigate violations when they occur
• Define and oversee security improvements; evaluating trends and anticipating requirements
• Participate in the execution of projects, issue resolution, change management and work closeout
• Set up and maintain user network accounts
• Make use of diagnostic tools and network knowledge to solve complex problems
• Develop, and coordinate roll-out of security tools and procedures to eliminate system vulnerabilities
• Configure and administer the entity’s computer networks and address any issues that may occur with them e.g. LAN, WAN, Intranet, etc.
• Ensure the smooth-running and maintenance of the entity’s intranet systems and server
• Create, test, and implement network disaster recovery plans
• Translate long term IT strategy into operational plans in the coming year
• Develops business strategy and helps develop corresponding IT strategy.
• Participate in committee meetings and engages confidently with the senior stakeholders regarding IT Governance
• Monitors the market to keep abreast of new technologies that will impact the ICT market

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in IT infrastructure management.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, ITIL) are an advantage.
• Proficiency in IT systems, networks, and security protocols.
• Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
• Intimate knowledge of an organization’s computing systems
• Ability to explain complex ideas to those with limited IT and systems knowledge
• Demonstrates an understanding of the issues of interest to the company and proposes viable strategies and solutions.
• Demonstrates basic understanding of data flow throughout the organization.
• Knowledge of methods, tools, and procedures to prevent information system vulnerabilities
• Understands the vision and goals of the IT organization and how their role helps in achieving the overarching goals.
• Ability to design and build single security solutions.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of multiple Information Security industry standards and frameworks.
• Understands business strategy and translates into IT requirements.
• Demonstrates basic understanding of data flow throughout the organization
• Support inter-organization changes to increase efficiency by the implementation of technology
• Extraordinary customer service and relationship management experience
• Experience developing web and desktop applications
• Experience with defining and implementing modern software development practices such as Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, and test automation.
• Knowledge of working with relational database management (HTML, Java, MS/SQL, and PH)
• Driven, independent thinker and leader who can multitask and stay organized within a dynamic working environment
