We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Production Officer

Locations: Uyo - Akwa Ibom and Akinyele - Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

• The Production Officer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all production activities and operations within the frozen chicken and beef production line. 
• This role involves planning daily production schedules, managing manpower, and ensuring smooth production processes to meet quality standards and production goals.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in the production process across all lines.
• Collaborate with the Production Manager to determine production requirements and discuss the condition of cold chain status.
• Oversee the weighing and ensure that the birds to be slaughtered are in good condition.
• Manage the daily slaughtering of birds, ensuring the required dressing yield percentage per production.
• Ensure seamless product transfer to the Inventory team.
• Maintain prompt daily, weekly, and monthly production records for management use.
• Ensure the production team uses the required personal protective equipment (PPE) before and during production.
• Collaborate with Quality Control and Maintenance teams to address quality-related issues, implement process improvements, and maintain product quality and safety.
• Provide training and guidance to production staff on production procedures, food safety practices, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and regulatory assessments, providing documentation and support as needed.
• Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to food safety, production assurance, and hygiene practices.
• Participate in the new hire induction program and ensure proper onboarding.
• Ensure good manufacturing practices, proper hygiene, and conformity with established SOPs.
• Uphold the company's values and ethical standards, promoting a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement in all aspects of operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Production Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in chicken production management.
• Extensive knowledge of working in an abattoir for chicken production.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
• Proven experience in managing production teams and processes.
