SecureID Limited is a smart card manufacturing and personalization bureau with expertise in the deployment and integration of digital solutions. Historically, we are positioned as the first commercially operated smart card manufacturing plant in sub-Saharan Africa with the ability to manufacture Poly-carbonate Cards amongst other card types.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Engineering (Fintech & Payments Solutions)

Location: Lagos

About the Role

• As Head of Engineering, you will lead the development of secure and scalable fintech solutions, overseeing the technical strategy and execution of our digital payments’ infrastructure.
• You will manage cross-functional teams, ensuring that our solutions meet industry standards and business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement a scalable technology strategy for digital payment solutions.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
• Drive the development of secure, efficient financial APIs and transaction systems.
• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure and scalable payment solutions, ensuring seamless integration with NIBSS, NIP, and e-payment channels.
• Ensure compliance with financial security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with product, business, and regulatory teams to build cutting-edge fintech solutions.
• Manage regulatory audits, cybersecurity risk assessments, and ensure robust API management for third-party integrations with banks, fintechs, and payment processors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
• 8+ years in a senior technical leadership role, preferably within the fintech, payments, and/or telecoms industry.
• Strong background in financial technology architecture and digital payment systems.
• Proven track record in leading and mentoring engineering teams, fostering innovation, and driving high performance
• Hands-on experience with payment gateways, POS terminal management, and switching platforms
• Expertise in financial security, compliance, and risk management.
• Experience working with banks, PSPs, or fintech startups.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• In-depth knowledge of CBN guidelines, cybersecurity, and electronic payment regulations.
