Job Title: Head of Content

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Summary

• As the Head of Content, you will lead the development and execution of the content strategy across multiple platforms to increase brand awareness, engagement, and conversion. 
• You will manage a talented content team and collaborate with other departments to produce content that resonates with target audiences.

Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Planning:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with the company’s marketing objectives and long-term vision.
• Conduct content audits to identify gaps and opportunities in current content offerings.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure content strategies support business goals.

Content Creation & Management:

• Oversee the production of all content types, including blog posts, articles, videos, podcasts, social media posts, whitepapers, and other marketing materials.
• Manage the content calendar to ensure timely delivery of all content.
• Direct the editorial process, including writing, editing, and quality assurance.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of content creators, writers, designers, and editors.
• Foster a creative, collaborative, and productive environment within the content team.
• Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for team members.

Content Distribution & Promotion:

• Work closely with the marketing team to amplify content through appropriate channels (social media, email marketing, paid campaigns, etc.).
• Analyze the performance of content across platforms and optimize for better reach, engagement, and conversions.
• Ensure content is SEO-optimized and adheres to best practices for online visibility.

Qualifications
Experience:

• At least 5 years agency experience.
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies.
• Experience managing and leading a content team.
• Strong understanding of SEO, content marketing, and analytics tools.
• Expertise in various content types and formats (articles, social media, video, etc.).

Skills:

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Creative thinking with a passion for storytelling.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams
• Analytical & strategic mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality output.

• Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), analytics tools (Google Analytics, etc.), and social media platforms.
