Job Title: Deputy Managing Director

Location: Magodo Phase 2, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and experienced Deputy Managing Director (DMD) to oversee the day-to-day operation of the company.
• The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing our projects, driving strategic growth, ensuring quality control, and enhancing business development efforts.
• The DMD will be integral to the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the Managing Director, and supporting in key decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the company, ensuring all departments align with company goals and standards.
• Lead and supervise construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and operational efficiency.
• Manage and mentor senior management teams, providing leadership and guidance across various construction projects.
• Work closely with the Managing Director on long-term business planning and risk management.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and industry standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers.
• Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
• Act as the main point of contact for high-level negotiations and business development opportunities.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and new business opportunities for potential expansion.
• And other designated duties.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• At least 7-15 years of experience in the construction industry, real estate, marketing, property management with a significant portion in a senior leadership role (e.g., Project Manager, Senior Operations Manager, or similar).

Skills/Expertise:

• Financial Acumen: strong understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control.
• Communication & Negotiation: strong negotiation skills, with experience managing relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders. Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely to both internal and external parties.
• Time Management & Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Innovation & Adaptability: Willingness to embrace new technologies and industry innovations that improve efficiency and project outcomes.
