We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Fiction Writer (Long-Form Story Continuation)

Location: Remote (Nigeria-based preferred)
Job Type: Freelance / Contract
Word Count Target: 50,000 words/month

Job Description

• We’re looking for a talented and committed fiction writer to continue an ongoing long-form story in the romance/drama genre. You’ll receive a detailed outline, previous chapters, and character profiles to guide your work.
• The ideal candidate will be able to maintain the existing tone and voice of the story while bringing emotional depth, plot tension, and engaging character development.

Key Responsibilities

• Write a minimum of 50,000 original words per month (approximately 12,000–13,000 words weekly).
• Continue the story based on provided outlines and character arcs.
• Deliver emotionally compelling chapters with strong pacing and impactful cliffhangers.
• Revise and edit work based on feedback.
• Meet weekly deadlines and maintain consistent communication with the lead editor/creator.

Requirements
Preferred Qualifications / Education:

• Degree in English, Creative Writing, Literature, Mass Communication, or related fields is an advantage—but not required.
• A strong writing portfolio with fiction samples (especially in romance/drama) is highly preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of creative writing experience.
• Previous experience working on serialized or long-form stories is a plus.

Required Skills:

• Excellent storytelling ability and understanding of plot development.
• Strong command of written English (grammar, flow, and dialogue).
• Ability to write in a consistent tone and character voice.
• Experience with long-form storytelling and episodic structure.
• Ability to take constructive feedback and apply edits effectively.

Other Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must own a writing device (laptop/tablet).
• Must be reachable for communication via email or WhatsApp.
• Must be able to work independently and meet word count goals weekly.
• Willing to sign a content ownership and non-disclosure agreement.

Remuneration

• N100,000 monthly for meeting the 50,000-word target.
• Possibility of higher pay for future projects based on performance.
• Long-term writing opportunities available for outstanding candidates.
