The ideal candidate will manage the cost and estimation of our commercial and residential projects, maintain the highest quality standards, and ensure they are completed within the stipulated budget.
You will advise on cost management, contract negotiation, and procurement, and actively collaborate with our architects, contractors, artisans, and other stakeholders in your deliverables.
Responsibilities
Understand the client requirements and quantities take-off as per marking and RCP drawings
Prepare comprehensive bills of quantities (BoQs) and cost estimates for projects, considering materials, labour, and other associated costs
Prepare and submit tender documents for projects, ensuring they are accurate and competitive
Participation in the pre-tendering activities with client, architect and project managers and raising relevant pre-bid queries from the given tender
Collaborate with the project manager, architects, and contractors to ensure accurate quantity take-off delivery
Conduct site visits to collect data and evaluate project needs
Oversee the procurement process for materials and manage inventory by sourcing and acquiring competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
Generate interim valuations and progress reports for ongoing projects, monitoring variations and potential cost changes
Document and report precise records of all project expenses and financial transactions
Compile final cost reports for projects, analysing and clarifying any discrepancies from the initial estimate
Prepare and issue invoices for completed work, ensuring prompt payment from clients
Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering exercises.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field
3+ years of experience in quantity surveying or cost consulting, preferably in an architectural firm
Professional membership or certification in quantity surveying or construction management
Proficiency in cost estimation and cost management techniques
Proficiency in relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and quantity surveying software.
Skills:
Professional membership or certification in quantity surveying or construction management
Sound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations and standards.
Experience working on various construction projects, including residential and commercial sites
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and environmental standards
Experience with building information modelling (BIM) and quantity take-off software
Familiarity with contract law and construction contracts
Knowledge of service guidelines, such as the National Building Code (NBC), ANSI/ASHRAE for HVAC, and LEED for green buildings
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
Strong project management skills and ability
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with extraordinary negotiation abilities
Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying
Salary
N300,000 / Month.
