Job Title: Product Trainer

Overall Purpose Of The Job
The Product Trainer is responsible for designing and delivering training programs for clients and internal teams on the company’s business technology solutions. This role ensures that users gain a comprehensive understanding of how to use the company’s products effectively to meet their business needs. The Product Trainer works closely with product development, support, and sales teams to create engaging and informative training materials and sessions that empower users and drive adoption of the company’s technology solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and experience in adult learning principles. This role contributes to the company’s mission by ensuring that clients and employees are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to maximize the value derived from the company’s technology offerings, ultimately driving customer satisfaction and product success.
Responsibilities
Training Program Design:
Develop and update comprehensive training programs that cover all aspects of the company’s business technology solutions.
Create customized training materials for different client segments, including small businesses, large enterprises, and internal teams.
Design blended learning programs using multiple formats, such as online learning modules, instructor-led training, webinars, and self-paced tutorials.
Continuously assess the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements based on user feedback and product updates.
Training Delivery:
Deliver engaging, clear, and effective training sessions to clients, partners, and internal teams on the features, benefits, and usage of the company’s products.
Conduct live demonstrations of the company’s software, tools, and platforms during onboarding, post-implementation, and ongoing training sessions.
Tailor training delivery based on the audience’s skill level, business needs, and industry requirements to ensure comprehensive understanding.
Provide remote and on-site training sessions for customers as needed, ensuring users are well-equipped to utilize the solutions.
Collaboration With Cross-Functional Teams:
Work closely with product development teams to stay up-to-date on new features, product releases, and updates, ensuring all training materials reflect the latest offerings.
Collaborate with sales and customer success teams to understand client needs and align training objectives with customer goals and product outcomes.
Partner with the support team to identify common user issues or areas where additional training may reduce technical support inquiries.
Training Materials Development:
Develop user manuals, step-by-step guides, knowledge base articles, video tutorials, and other training resources that can be used independently by customers and team members.
Maintain and update a library of training content and ensure all documentation is accessible, user-friendly, and up-to-date.
Work with instructional designers and content developers to create multimedia content, including videos, quizzes, and simulations, to enhance learning.
Product Expert and Feedback Loop:
Act as a product expert for internal teams and clients, offering in-depth knowledge on features, best practices, and troubleshooting.
Collect feedback from training participants on product performance and usability, and relay this information to product management and development teams to support continuous product improvement.
Monitor trends in client usage, adoption rates, and areas of confusion to inform future training topics and resource development.
Customer Onboarding and Adoption:
Play an integral role in the onboarding process by ensuring that new clients receive comprehensive product training during initial implementations.
Drive product adoption through training initiatives that increase user proficiency and confidence in using the solutions.
Regularly schedule follow-up training sessions to address advanced product features or new releases.
Support Internal Training Initiatives:
Provide ongoing product training for internal teams, including sales, support, and product teams, to ensure they are knowledgeable about current features and future product releases.
Lead train-the-trainer sessions for internal staff, empowering them to deliver accurate and effective training to clients.
Qualifications Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Education, Business, or a related field.
A Master’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or Information Systems is an added advantage.
Experience:
5-7 years of experience in training and development, instructional design, or product training, preferably in the business technology or software industry.
Experience in training users on cloud solutions, enterprise software, or complex technology platforms (e.g., Zoho products, Zendesk, Manage Engine, etc.).
Proven track record of developing and delivering both in-person and virtual training programs.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, including sales, support, and product development.
Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) or similar certification to demonstrate proficiency in delivering technical training.
Train-the-Trainer (TTT) Certification or equivalent to show experience in training program design and delivery.
Industry-specific certifications such as Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), AWS Certified Instructor, or Certified Salesforce Instructor are beneficial depending on the company’s product offerings.
