News: LADOL Assures FG of 55, 000 Jobs - FPSO Integration

Posted on Thu 12th Nov, 2015 - hotnigerianjobs.com --- (1 comments)

The Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base LADOL has said it is committed to boosting the Federal Government's policy of creating employment opportunities for the nation's youths with the creation of over 55,000 job opportunities.

LADOL is Nigeria's first and only wholly owned indigenous Deep Offshore Logistic Base providing world class solutions in the areas of deep off-shore support for maritime and oil and gas projects, agriculture and fabrications located at the Apapa Port Pilotage District, Tarkwa Bay, Lagos.

The company is currently at the final completion of the integration of the Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading FPSO project, through which it projects to massively create jobs for the teeming youths of the country.

Managing Director of LADOL, Dr Amy Jadesimi, who gave the assurance, told the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority NPA, Malam Habib Abdullahi, who led other top management staff of the authority during a visit to the LADOL Base in Lagos that the company plans to create no fewer than 5,000 direct and 50,000 indirect jobs in the next few years,

According to her, the company aims at changing the entire economic landscape of the country through the provision of 5,000 direct jobs and 50,000 indirect jobs for Nigerians,

This she argued would launch the country into the league of G20 group of nations.

She however called on NPA as technical regulator for the nation's port industry to ensure a level playing field for all the operators in the industry to strive.

The LADOL-boss argued that only this could guarantee the best of services to end-users as well as encourage economic growth for the country.

Investigations showed that apart from the FPSO integration project, the company also has other ongoing projects such as a passenger terminal with an emergency response facility which has the capacity to accommodate 1000 passengers expected to be completed in 2017.

The company is also building an integrated quay wall with a built design of 13.5metre draught and 500-metre long due for completion in February next year.

Managing Director of NPA had while speaking at the event, pledged of the continued promotion of international best practice in the nation's maritime industry by the technical regulator.

He also assured that the authority will at all times strive to discourage monopoly while promoting healthy competition amongst the various players in the industry.

According to him, the efforts of LADOL, a fully indigenously-owned organisation was praiseworthy, especially in the area of technical expertise as well as in the creation of multiple jobs..

"I am very impressed and very proud as a Nigerian, that a company owned by a Nigerian is doing very well in such a specialised area. As a landlord and technical regulator, NPA will continue to encourage not only LADOL, but all other companies in the maritime industry that provide similar services, the NPA-boss said.

Abdullahi, who was visibly elated also said: I am quite impressed by what the MD of LADOL said that what she wants is competition, collaboration and reconciliation and not monopoly. From our own end as a technical regulator, we will continue to provide a level playing field which is vital for economic growth".
