Education and Qualifications
Educational Background:
HND / BSc in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or Certificate in Warehouse and Inventory Management are highly advantageous.
Experience:
5 - 8 years of progressive experience in warehouse management, preferably in the FMCG sector.
Proven track record of managing large-scale warehouse operations, including inventory control, order fulfillment, and distribution.
Skills and Competencies
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
Strong understanding of inventory management techniques, demand planning, and supply chain optimization.
Leadership and Team Management:
Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams, including supervisors, warehouse staff, and drivers.
Excellent conflict resolution and performance management skills.
Organizational and Analytical Skills:
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on efficiency and cost reduction.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Deep knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and best practices in warehouse operations.
Experience implementing and monitoring safety protocols to ensure compliance with company and legal standards.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across different teams and departments.
Financial Acumen:
Experience managing budgets, forecasting costs, and analyzing financial data related to warehouse operations.
Ability to track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost per order, inventory turnover, and delivery accuracy.
Adaptability and Innovation:
Capability to adapt to changing market demands and implement innovative solutions for operational improvements.
Familiarity with automation technologies and lean warehousing principles.
Other Requirements:
Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, when necessary.
Physical capability to oversee operations within warehouse environments.
