Work Time: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Thursday and 8:00am – 1.00pm on Fridays

Job Description      

• The British High Commission is looking for an Immigration Liaison Assistants (ILA) to work in the Risk and Liaison Overseas Network Office.
• The Unit is part of the UK Border Agency and provides support to the visa operation as well as being responsible for liaising with stakeholders. 
• The successful candidate will undertake a variety of tasks including researching trends in visa applications, initial dealings with passengers referred to the BHC by airlines and checking application details against confidential databases but will also have an important role as the team leader of our verification unit which undertakes verification of supporting documents supplied with visa applications. 
• Because of the nature of the work in RALON, the successful candidate must hold a British passport. 
• Additional duties will include writing reports, creating and maintaining databases and general administrative tasks.

Requirements

• A British passport holder with good oral and written communication skills.
• In particular, successful candidates will be able to work quickly and accurately, often under pressure, have a positive approach to tackling problems and a willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
• Diligence, resilience, a flexible approach and the ability to work well both in a small team and individually.
• Previous experience of working within a visa section or other office environment, good keyboard skills and a working knowledge of computer software packages (notably MS Word, Excel and databases) is essential.

Remuneration
N287,490.00
