Job Title: Human Resource (HR) Advisor / Generalist I

Job Description
Responsible for interpreting and ensuring compliance to HR policies, company processes, and relevant employment laws.
Partners with management on employee/labor relations and conducts internal investigations as assigned by HR management.
Partners with all levels of management and employees to communicate various HR objectives and procedures in compliance with company policy and employment law.
Acts as a first point of contact for line manages and provides support in regards to employee/labor relations issues, inquiries and complaints.
Position will receive direction and support.
Junior HR Generalist would typically work, for example, as a recruiter, benefit specialist, training specialist, etc. under a high supervision
Supports business strategy execution and delivery by leveraging common HR processes and developing efficient and effective HR interventions. Identifies people implications of business strategies and decisions and advises clients on solutions. Builds client relationships, reputation and establishes rapport.
Delivers efficient and effective HR services (Performance Assessment and Development Process (PADP), Staffing and Development (S&D), Case Management, policy interpretation), leveraging subject matter experts as necessary.
Manages and resolves people related issues. Analyzes trends and metrics; identifies business and people challenges, considers options, makes recommendations and stewards implementation; delivers on agreed HR action plans. Promotes leadership, management and supervisory effectiveness.
Promotes diversity and inclusion through HR processes and initiatives to ensure various ideas, background and perspectives are respected and valued. Ensures compliance with internal & external HR license to operate requirements. Identifies, implements, or leads improvements to HR processes.
Responsibilities
Training:
Interface with Training vendors for annual training calendars
Develop consolidated annual training plan calendar
Collate and review annual training plans submitted by Department Training contacts
Upon HR reviews communicate approved training to Department Training contacts
Communicate BU training registration details to Training vendors
Receive and collate training certificates and attendance documentation from employees for Industrial Training Fund (ITF) submission
Collate and prepare training documents for ITF regulatory submission
Review ITF Training reimbursement application for accuracy and compliance
POC interface with ITF on adhoc activities
Facilitate regulatory ITF 1% contribution payment and filing with Deloitte consultants and Payroll
Review Training vendor invoices for accuracy and facilitate invoice payment
Review Deloitte consultant monthly ITF service invoice and confirm job completion
Process interface coordination between EM, Training vendors and Deloitte service consultants on Training/ITF related activities
Logistics and accommodation coordination for onsite trainings delivered by Training vendors
Deloitte HR services contract monitoring and administration
National Housing Fund (NHF) and National Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) activities:
Prepare required letters and provide supporting documentation (e.g retirement letters) for retiree NHF application
Review NSITF applications for accuracy
Interface coordination with Deloitte/retiree on NHF or NSITF requests
Review Deloitte consultant monthly service invoice and confirm job completion
Deloitte HR services contract monitoring and administration
Forex Program:
Review bi-weekly employee forex program schedule and application forms
Confirm eligibility of employee and beneficiary and application compliance with prescribed program limits
HR cost monitoring:
In collaboration with BSA, monthly review and validation of charges allocated to HR cost center and coordinate with responsible parties to make necessary reversals as applicable.
Manage CUG Mobile Bill Reviews:
Conduct monthly reviews of HR Closed User Group (CUG) mobile bills and validate billing information
Employee Benefits related Data Management:
File benefits related employee records e.g Designation of Benefits forms for efficient information retrieval.
Adhoc regulatory reporting, reviews and compliance support e.g NCDMB, FMI reviews etc
On request, initiate employment verification requests on EMConnect for retirees
Retiree enquiry resolution and escalation with Deloitte service consultants as required
Requirements
Staffing and HR experience. Proficient in MS Office.
Ability to maintain and handle confidential information.
Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
