Summary

• Lead level accountant that applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. 
• Ensures compliance with accounting principles, audit transactions, implement control systems, and provide recommendations to improve accounting operations and processes.

Principle Responsibilites
Financial Reporting & Strategic Analysis:

• Monitor financial trends and lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP, Sox requirements and internal standards.
• Provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decisions and performance optimization.

Accounting Operations & Controls:

• Oversee the general ledger and ensure integrity of accounting records through thorough account reconciliations and variance analyses. Also, support corporate tax planning, regulatory filings, and statutory compliance including SOX accounting.
• Design, implement, continuously improve internal controls and financial procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure accuracy in all contracts, purchase order, and vendor-related financial documentation.

Leadership & Team Management:

• Mentor and lead finance team members to achieve departmental goals and high-performance standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and sales teams to align financial practices with business goals while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and ethical financial management.

Audit & Compliance:

• Lead the coordination of internal and external audits, ensuring timely preparation of audit schedules and resolution of audit findings.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local and international accounting regulations and ensure full compliance with all statutory and internal policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (Master’s degree or MBA is a plus).
• 8 - 12 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of accounting functions in a multinational or complex business environment.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or ICAN) is required.
• Expertise in IFRS, GAAP, and regulatory standards applicable in Nigeria and internationally.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP is highly desirable.
