We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Overview

• The Senior Accountant is a high ranking accounting position within the NAOK Company organization, responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial direction. 
• He/She manages the accounting team, develops budgets, prepares financial statements, and ensure adherence to accounting standards. They also advise on financial strategies and assist with strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the entire accounting team.
• Ensure all tasks are completed within prescribed timescales.
• Conduct training and development for the team.
• Monitor and mentor/train junior staff.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Produce monthly management accounts and ad hoc reports.
• Monitor financial performance and prepare budgets.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other local legal requirements.
• Maintain and improve internal controls.
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate reporting.
• Assist to develop and implement the organization's financial strategy.
• Provide financial advice to management and the board.
• Analyze financial data and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure the integrity of data held within finance systems.
• Recommend improvements to financial accounting processes.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, clients, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve shared goals.

Skills and Qualifications

• Candidates should possess Master's Degrees and professional Accountancy qualification with 10+ years relevant work experience.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and financial analysis techniques.
• Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make sound financial decisions.
• Ability to develop and implement long-term financial strategies.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to identify and solve financial problems.
• Familiarity with financial management software and tools.
• Knowledge of the local financial institutions and prevailing local financial market conditions.
