We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Food Handler

Location: Lekki (Orchid Road), Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Workdays: 6 days per week, with 1 day off
Work Hours: To be decided

Summary

• The Food Handler is responsible for the safe and hygienic handling, preparation, and packaging of meat products, including beef, fish & seafood, poultry, goat, and ram. 
• This role ensures all food safety standards are met during processing, maintains cleanliness in work areas, and supports efficient operations by preparing products for display and sale. 
• The Food Handler plays a vital role in maintaining product quality, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.

Tasks

• Handle, process, and package various meat products in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Inspect products for freshness, quality, and expiration.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of inventory to prevent spoilage.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all food preparation and storage areas.
• Follow hygiene and safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of workstations and displays.
• Dispose of waste and by-products in accordance with company and health guidelines.
• Collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Report any quality or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
• May perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Minimum of an OND in related field is an advantage.
• 2 - 3 years experience in food handling or meat processing preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in cold environments
• Ability to lift heavy items
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Food Handler Certification is an asset (or required, depending on local regulations).
• Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively.
• Professional appearance in line with the company’s dress policy.

Working Conditions:

• Work involves standing for long periods and working in cold storage areas.
• Requires the use of protective clothing and equipment.
• May involve early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.

Benefits

• Salary: N50,000 - N70,000 monthly.
• Accommodation: Basic Accommodation is available.
