Main Job Description
As an Account Officer at the Events Ware House, you will play a key role in the finance and accounting functions of the company.
You will be maintaining financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, and providing general administrative support to the finance department.
This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a basic understanding of accounting principles.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Support to Finance Team:
Assist in budget preparation and monitoring.
Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and information.
Provide general administrative support to the finance department.
Communication and Coordination:
Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders regarding financial matters.
Liaise with the procurement team to ensure accurate recording of purchases and payments.
Support the finance team in resolving any discrepancies or issues.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Transactions:
Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
Prepare and issue invoices, receipts, and bank deposits.
Reconcile financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy.
Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collection.
Maintain petty cash records and reconcile petty cash transactions.
Record Keeping and Data Entry:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system.
Enter financial data into the accounting software with a high level of accuracy.
Organize and maintain filing systems for invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.
Assist in preparing financial reports and statements as needed.
Compliance and Audit Support:
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
Assist in preparing documents and records for internal and external audits.
Help implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Key Performance Index
Accuracy of Financial records: percentage of reconciliation completed with no discrepancies, and number of errors in financial reports, aiming for zero errors.
Compliance and Audit Preparedness: completion of all audit preparation tasks by set deadline and number of audit findings related to financial record-keeping, aiming for zero findings.
Efficiency in data entry: Average time taken to enter financial data into accounting system, and number of data entry errors, aiming for minimal errors per month.
Effective Communication
Timely financial report
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
0-2 years’ experience as an account officer.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and accounting software
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Good communication and Interpersonal abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
