We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: MEAL Specialist
Location: Katsina / Zamfara
Employment Type: Full time
Reporting To: Director of Programmes, GOALPrime Organization
Objective
To provide strategic direction and technical oversight in the development and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems that support evidence-based programming across GOALPrime Organization Nigeria’s interventions.
The MEAL Specialist will play a critical role in enhancing data quality, promoting organizational learning, and ensuring accountability to project participants.
This position supports the effectiveness and impact of programs that serve vulnerable populations, particularly children, youth, and caregivers, across humanitarian and development settings.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Design and Implement MEAL Systems:
Develop and implement MEAL frameworks and other sectoral programs.
Ensure data collection methodologies are rigorous, accurate, and timely.
Data Collection and Analysis:
Collect, clean, and analyze data to assess the state of education infrastructure and quality of learning.
Utilize both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods.
Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive reports on findings from joint monitoring visits.
Compile and present data insights to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and actionable recommendations.
Ensure timely submission of reports to partners.
Accountability and Learning:
Feedback Mechanisms:
Develop and implement feedback mechanisms to gather inputs from beneficiaries and stakeholders.
Ensure that feedback is integrated into project planning and implementation.
Conduct regular monitoring visits and field assessments.
System Development and Management
Maintain and improve the EduTrack web-based school data management system.
Manage and update the GPON One-Office system (HR, logistics, finance, tasks, IM, etc.).
Work with program and operations teams to identify system improvement needs.
Capacity Building:
Training and Support:
Design and deliver training programs for government stakeholders on MEAL, contingency planning, and anticipatory action.
Provide ongoing technical support and mentorship to stakeholders to strengthen their capacities.
Lead training and capacity-building for field teams on MEAL tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
5-7 years of experience as a Fullstack Developer.
Proficiency in front-end technologies: ReactJS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+).
Strong knowledge of back-end technologies: NodeJS, PHP, and Django.
Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
Basic understanding of mobile app development (React Native, Flutter, or similar technologies).
Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred skills:
Familiarity with HR, logistics, and finance systems integration is a strong asset.
Knowledge of data visualization, dashboarding, and data protection standards.
Excellent communication, training, and team collaboration skills.
Proficiency in the Local language communication
