Job Description

  • We are seeking a passionate and experienced Community Manager to lead and nurture our vibrant community in Lagos, serving as a key driver of our pan-African vision.
  • You will be a strategic leader responsible for cultivating a thriving ecosystem for entrepreneurs, innovators, and changemakers within our Lagos hub.
  • This role requires a deep understanding of the startup landscape, exceptional community-building skills, and a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders across the continent.
  • As Senior Community Manager, you will work closely with counterparts in Kenya, Rwanda, Togo, and Namibia to share best practices, align on pan-African initiatives, and ensure a cohesive CcHUB community experience across Africa.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a Shared Vision: Contribute to the development and execution of pan-African community programmes that leverage the collective strength and resources of the CcHUB network.
  • Share Knowledge & Resources: Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration between the Lagos community and other hubs, fostering cross-border connections that support the broader African tech ecosystem.

Team Management

  • Lead with Impact: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Lagos community team, which includes an Assistant Community Manager, two Community Associates, and an intern.
  • Empower & Develop: Cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and growth. Conduct regular team meetings, delegate responsibilities effectively, and support professional development through mentorship.
  • Drive Performance: Set clear performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and deliver constructive feedback to maintain a high-performing team.

Co-working Space and Community Management

  • Curate an Inspiring Environment: Oversee daily operations of the Lagos co-working space, ensuring it remains a dynamic and welcoming environment for entrepreneurs and innovators.
  • Optimise for Collaboration & Innovation: Work with the administrative team to maintain a functional, well-designed space that fosters creativity and adapts to the needs of the community.
  • Champion Member Experience: Be a visible and accessible presence, addressing enquiries, concerns, and feedback proactively. Continuously seek opportunities to enhance member experience and build a strong sense of belonging.

Events Management & Strategic Engagement

  • Curate a Dynamic Event Calendar: Design and deliver a strategic programme of events, workshops, masterclasses, and networking sessions that promote innovation and business growth within Nigeria and beyond.
  • Ensure Seamless Execution & Impact: Manage all aspects of event delivery including budgeting, logistics, marketing, vendor coordination, and post-event analysis to ensure meaningful outcomes.
  • Extend Reach Through Digital: Leverage digital tools and innovative formats to broaden the impact of events and connect the Lagos community with wider audiences across the continent.

Community Programme Development & Growth

  • Design for Impact: Develop and implement creative strategies to grow the Lagos community, attract new members, and position CcHUB as the premier hub for innovation in Lagos.
  • Understand Community Needs: Engage closely with practices, partners, and stakeholders to understand community priorities and tailor initiatives that support business growth and success.
  • Foster a Sense of Belonging: Create initiatives that promote collaboration, knowledge exchange, and a supportive environment for members.
  • Champion the CcHUB Brand: Act as a brand ambassador, representing CcHUB Lagos within the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders.

Administration & Operations

  • Ensure Operational Excellence: Manage administrative functions related to the co-working space, including membership records, billing, and vendor coordination.
  • Facilitate Seamless Communication: Serve as the primary contact for co-working and community-related matters, ensuring effective communication across internal teams and with external partners.
  • Maintain the Space: Collaborate with facilities and admin teams to ensure the co-working space is well-maintained and that member needs are consistently met.
