ZOA operates in more than 15 countries, in difficult locations where our field staff directly provides assistance to the most vulnerable victims of displacement. The countries in which ZOA is present are Afghanistan, Burundi, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Jordan, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Liberia, Myanmar, Philippines, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Uganda and Yemen. ZOA is active in insecure and volatile regions: serving Syrian refugees in the Middle East, uprooted people in war-torn South Sudan, displaced Yezidis in Northern Iraq and South Sudanese refugees in Ethiopia, to name a few.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Summary
Internal
Provide MEAL expertise to strengthen ZOA - Nigeria’s core sector programming areas, namely Food Security and Livelihoods, WASH and Education.
The incumbent will play a critical role in strengthening partnerships, business development and knowledge management.
The position is 12 months fixed term renewable based on funding availability. MEAL tool development and data management
Develop and rollout relevant data collection tools for baseline lines, process and outcomes indicator tracking including relevant assessments and studies.
Data and report objectively all field monitoring activities.
Develop appealing infographics and dashboards that allow easy project activity, output & outcome tracking.
Adopt and utilize ZOA tools in measuring implementation of ZOA’s key thematic areas (Localization, peace nexus & climate change) & cross cutting themes.
Monitoring and reporting:
Maintain and update the overall projects indicator tracker-based project designs and donor requirements.
Develop M&E plans for all projects and proposals and ensure the same is followed up during implementation.
Ensure all grants have updated work-plan and performance management plan (PMPs) in tandem with all approved proposals, regularly reviewing and updating as needed.
Carry out data quality assessments / audits regularly for MEAL data based on agreed indicators to guide decision making.
Review monthly progress reports from partners and ensure they have evidence to back-up and provide feedback to the respective staff.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and provide on-the-ground support and guidance.
Ensure that cross-cutting issues such as participation, gender, age and disability are effective. Addressed/mainstreamed in all project implementations as part of ensuring accountability Assessments, surveys, and evaluation
Facilitate and/or coordinate all country assessments, evaluations and performance evaluation tasks including planning and reporting on the same.
Assist in the development of TOR for external surveys and consultant recruitments/selection..
Timely plan and initiate all pre- and post-intervention assessments, KAP surveys, After Action Reviews, Post Distribution Monitoring and Real-Time Evaluation of emergency programmes.
Learning, accountability, and capacity building:
Maintain a repository of M&E resources and tools accessible to staff, promoting continuous learning and improvement in monitoring and evaluation practices to ensure program quality.
Build capacity of staff through training to ensure adoption of new data monitoring tools and quality of data collected.
Regularly collect data on and analyse the Complaints Reporting and Feedback Mechanism (CRFM) accountability data to the ZOA team to facilitate quality improvement.
Implement feedback mechanisms to incorporate lessons learned into project planning an execution.
Representation, fundraising, liaison, and communication
Participate in delegated cluster and thematic group meetings clearly articulating the work ZOA is doing.
Map partners with similar programming interests and engage for possible future partnerships.
Work with the HQ communication team to ensure that communication products developed and shared enhance the visibility of ZOA and supporting donors;
Support the country office in proposal development, and tracking funding trends.
Submission of 5Ws, who does What, Where, When and Why to the Food Security Sector (FSS) to promote transparency and accountability within the humanitarian response.
Competencies
Master’s Degree in any relevant study area with experience in Humanitarian and Development work monitoring and evaluation preferred.
Experience in implementing at least two of ZOA’s key sectors (WASH, Education, FSL)
Demonstrated experience in data processing and management of large-scale surveys.
Experienced in Results based reporting using standard food security, livelihoods, resilience, WASH, Education in Emergencies, Household Economic Strengthening, Gender Based Violence
Demonstrated experience of statistical packages and/ or data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Excel, Epi Info, SMART, STAT 01) and advanced computer skills (word processing, spread sheets, and databases) are a must.
Knowledge and experience in implementing integrated public health, social protection, education, food security & livelihoods, projects are an added advantage.
External contacts:
Community members, community leaders and community-based organizations.
National and international NGOs working in ZOA’s target areas.
Any other stakeholders in project implementation at the community level.
