Job Title: Import and Export Manager

Job Summary

• We are looking for an eperienced hire who is currenlyan import manager, export manager or import and export manager specifically in the manufacturing, Engineering, Energy, Oil & Gas, Construction, Real Estate, or Agric industry.

Responsibilities

• Manages the movement of products/equipment/materials/spares in and/or out of the country in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and to comply with relevant local and international laws and processes.
• Develops and implements import/export strategy and activities consistent with the overall aims and requirements of the organization.
• Develops and implements policies and procedures related to imports and exports.
• Manages the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost-effective and lawful execution of all import/export activities.
• Manages and fosters good relationships with relevant government agencies to ensure prompt delivery of procured commodities.
• Oversees the purchase of Insurance Certificates, processing of Form M, Pre-Arrival Assessment Report (PAAR) and other relevant custom clearing documents.
• Ensures shipping / customs clearing documents conform with requirements.
• Communicates with export and import and related authorities, and customers and suppliers, in all relevant territories and countries, as necessary to ensure efficient, positive and lawful relations, support and activities.
• Anticipates, researches and reports on future changes in import/export laws and in relevant local territory practices, and ensures such knowledge is factored into the planning of the department's own strategy, resources and procedures.
• Ensures the best quality service through the establishment of import-export documentation in full and on time.
• Maintains and shares with colleagues as appropriate, knowledge of all relevant import/export laws and procedures; tariffs and duties; licences and restrictions.
• Prepares and submits required reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Provides oversight and direction to the employees within the department in accordance with policies and procedures.

Requirements

• HND / B.Sc Degree in related field
• 5+ years experience in experience in import/export operations.
• Extensive Knowledge of Nigeria / Customs Importation Procedures and related documentation (Form M, Paar, Duty Assessment, Duty Waiver)
• Extensive Knowledge of International Payment Methods (LC, Bill of Lading)
• Conversance with Incoterms
• Excellent Negotiation Skills with foreign suppliers
• Logistics management and organization
• Familiarity with CBN rules, regulations, and other applicable agencies' provision; SONCAP, NAFDAC, NDLEA, CUSTOM, etc.
