Job Title: Business Development Officer
Location: Ogba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Functionally reports to: Team Lead, Marketing
Job Objective
The primary objective is to identify, develop, and implement initiatives to drive business growth.
The personnel will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders, as well as identifying new business opportunities and markets.
The ultimate goal is to drive revenue growth, increase market share, and achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and research potential business opportunities, partnerships, and target markets.
Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company objectives and targets and penetrate new markets and industries.
Create and deliver compelling and tailored sales presentations, proposals, and pitches to key stakeholders (businesses and individual clients).
Negotiate and close business deals with potential clients.
Deliver measurable results by consistently hitting and surpassing monthly sales targets.
Establish and maintain partnerships/long-term relationships with both business and individual clients to drive repeat business and referrals.
Attend industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to identify growth opportunities.
Provide regular updates and reports to management on business development activities, progress, and outcomes.
Stay on top of industry trends and competitive offerings to fine-tune your sales strategy and remain ahead of the game.
Requirements
Educational Qualification: A minimum of a B.Sc. Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Mathematics, or a related field.
Professional Qualification: Added Advantage.
Minimum of three (3) years in direct sales, with experience in both B2B and B2C environments (preferably in the renewable energy and technology or similar industry).
Sales-Focused Mindset: You are not just looking to meet targets—you want to exceed them. You are passionate about winning and making sales happen.
Strong Communication, Presentation, and Negotiation Skills: You can effectively pitch to a wide range of clients, from large businesses to individual consumers.
Self-Starter: You take ownership of your sales territory, work independently, and don’t need micromanaging to succeed.
Passion for Renewable Energy: A genuine interest in solar power, sustainable energy, or technology.
Flexible & Adaptable: Whether you are meeting a business executive or an individual homeowner, you can adapt your approach to different client types.
Travel Willingness: Field-based role requiring travel across assigned regions.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suites and other applications.
What We Offer
Compensation Package: N100,000 - N150,000 per month (net) starting salary, commensurate with years of relevant experience, industry expertise, and ability to deliver exceptional results + operational expense allowance+ commission or possible equity. Inclusive of HMO and other statutory benefits.
