Job Title: Hostess

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary

• This position is responsible for creating a welcoming first impression for guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating arrangements. 
• The Hostess plays a key role in enhancing the customer experience by providing professional and courteous service while coordinating front-of-house operations efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables.
• Manage reservations and walk-in guests to optimize seating and minimize wait times.
• Maintain an organized and efficient seating chart to ensure a smooth flow of service.
• Communicate with the waitstaff and kitchen team to manage table availability.
• Provide menus to guests and inform them of any daily specials or promotions.
• Assist in answering customer inquiries regarding menu items, wait times, or restaurant services.
• Handle guest complaints and escalate unresolved issues to the manager when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the entrance and waiting areas.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and gather feedback to improve service.
• Assist with promotional events and special dining experiences.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with the service team to accommodate special requests or seating preferences.
• Support takeout and delivery order coordination if needed.

• Customer Greeting & Hospitality:
  • Target: Ensure 100% of guests are greeted warmly upon arrival.
• Reservation & Seating Management:
  • Target: Optimize table turnover and reduce guest wait times by 10%.
• Customer Satisfaction
  • Target: Maintain a 4.5+ star rating on customer service and reception.
• Complaint Handling & Resolution:
  • Target: Resolve 90% of guest concerns efficiently before escalating.
• Cleanliness & Organization:
  • Target: Keep entrance and waiting areas 100% clean and presentable.
• Seating Accuracy:
  • Target: Ensure 95% seating accuracy based on guest preferences and reservations.
• Team Coordination:
  • Target: Ensure 100% effective communication with waitstaff and management.
• Upselling & Promotion Assistance:
  • Target: Increase guest participation in promotions by 10% through recommendations.
• Professionalism & Appearance:
  • Target: Maintain 100% adherence to restaurant dress code and hospitality standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (hospitality certification is a plus).
• 3+ years of experience as a waitress, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations and customer service standards.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of POS systems and basic billing procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
