Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (IKEDC) - Buoyed by a mission to redefine customer experience and be the provider of choice wherever energy is consumed, the Ikeja Electric (IE), Nigeria's largest power distribution network, came into existence on November 1st, 2013 following the handover of the defunct Power Holding Company Of Nigeria (PHCN) to NEDC/ KEPCO Consortium under the privatization scheme of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Job Summary

• As a Solution Architect at Ikeja Electric, you will be at the forefront of innovation - translating business needs into scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions.
• Your role is critical in shaping the architecture that supports our digital transformation journey and drives operational efficiency across the organization.

You’ll Contribute To

• Designing end-to-end technology solutions aligned with business objectives, while ensuring optimal cost, security, scalability, and integration.
• Defining and enforcing reusable assets, frameworks, and architecture standards across projects and IT products.
• Translating business and technical requirements into practical, scalable solutions using the latest in cloud, infrastructure, and application technologies.
• Driving architecture governance, ensuring consistency in design patterns, performance, and compliance across solutions.
• Leading technical strategy discussions, educating stakeholders on architectural best practices and solutions.
• Providing technical mentorship, fostering excellence in design, execution, and performance within development teams.
• Monitoring architectural performance through Key Performance Indicators and supporting continuous improvement.

Requirements
Education:

• Bachelor’s degree information Technology or Computer Science, or a related field.
• Expert in defining, designing, and developing distributed and scalable products and services, including reusable domain-specific microservices on multiplatform /hybrid clouds (such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform, VMware, or OpenStack)
• Deep understanding of Application, Infrastructure, and security architecture and non-functional aspects like Performance, Scalability, Reliability, Availability, etc. of a system

Work Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a solution or technical architect role using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS platforms, preferably in a utility company.

Skills & Competencies:

• The role affords you to develop technical and behavioral competencies, that is, skills, knowledge, and behaviors required to successfully perform in the role and contribute to the organization's goals.

Technical Competencies:

• Solution Architecture
• Cloud Certification (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Configuration management and automation tools (as Azure DevOps, Ansible, Puppet, Octopus, Chef, Salt)
• Relational, graph, and/or unstructured data technologies
• Agile & DevOps methodologies.
• Can adopt and relate new technologies to the set of problems we face at IE while adhering to security and other IE standards
