Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Overview

• The CFO will use his/her expertise in financial strategy, capital structure, risk management, and compliance, with a strong focus on navigating the specific challenges of the NAOK group of companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the business's overall objectives, considering the volatility of commodity prices and the need for long-term planning.
• Manage the company's capital structure, including debt and equity, to optimize financial performance and secure necessary funding for operations and growth.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks associated with the real estate development, oil and gas operations, including commodity price fluctuations, geopolitical factors, and regulatory changes.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and industry-specific reporting requirements, including those specific to the real estate development, oil and gas sector.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, considering the unique challenges of the real estate development, oil and gas industry.
• Manage cash flow and liquidity to support ongoing operations and investment activities, particularly in a volatile industry like real estate development, oil and gas.
• Maintain relationships with investors and communicate the company's financial performance and outlook, especially in a sector with high capital requirements.
• Develop and implement tax strategies that optimize financial performance while complying with tax regulations.
• Develop a clear plan to achieve profitability, drive measurable value, and implement metrics for performance tracking, especially as NAOK group of companies is a startup.
• As the NAOK group of companies grows, the CFO will need to build and manage a strong finance team to support the increasing financial needs.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with investors, lenders, and other financial stakeholders is essential for securing funding and managing the business's financial health.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is a minimum requirement, with the CFO holding advanced degrees like an MBA or a Master's in Finance.
• A deep understanding of the real estate development, oil and gas operations, including exploration, production, refining, and distribution, is crucial for effective financial management.
• Proven experience in the real estate development, oil and gas industry, particularly in finance and accounting roles, is highly valued
• Certifications like CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) can enhance credibility.
