Job Summary
The Head of Sales is responsible for spearheading revenue growth and overseeing all sales operations within the organization.
This pivotal role demands a strategic leader who can craft and execute comprehensive sales strategies that drive performance across diverse client segments, ranging from HNIs to institutional and retail investors.
As a senior member of the leadership team, the Head of Sales collaborates closely with product, research, trading, and compliance units to align sales activities with the company’s broader vision and strategic goals.
The Head of Sales is not only accountable for achieving revenue targets but also for shaping Coronation Securities’ market positioning, deepening client relationships, and contributing to the Company’s long term growth and success in Nigeria’s dynamic financial ecosystem.
Role Responsibilities
Develop and execute a robust sales strategy focused on increasing revenue from equities, fixed income, and other tradable instruments within the Nigerian capital markets.
Lead client acquisition efforts across HNIs, institutional investors, corporates, and retail clients, ensuring tailored solutions that align with their investment objectives.
Supervise and coordinate all sales-related activities, including order execution, trade settlement follow-up, and client onboarding.
Collaborate with the research and trading teams to deliver timely market insights and actionable investment opportunities to clients.
Ensure the timely dissemination of stock recommendations, market analysis, and trade ideas to clients, driving increased trading volumes and client engagement.
Build and maintain long-term strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including portfolio managers, fund administrators, corporate treasurers, and family offices.
Monitor daily trading activities to ensure alignment with client mandates, regulatory requirements, and internal compliance frameworks.
Drive the digital transformation of client engagement, leveraging digital tools to increase reach and automate trade support processes for retail and institutional clients.
Provide senior management with periodic reports and strategic insights to inform business decisions and guide investment in sales infrastructure.
Work closely with the compliance and legal teams to ensure full adherence to SEC, NGX, and CIS regulations and reporting obligations.
Drive product innovation by working with product and research units to create new investment products tailored to client needs and market trends.
Represent the brokerage arm of Coronation Securities at investment forums, capital market briefings, and roadshows to boost visibility and thought leadership.
Track performance metrics, client profitability, and market penetration to evaluate progress against sales goals and adjust strategies as needed.
Develop and execute client retention programs, ensuring superior service delivery, proactive issue resolution, and loyalty-building initiatives.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field
Minimum of 12–15 years of sales experience, preferably within a stock brokerage or financial services firm
Proven track record in selling equities, fixed income instruments, bonds, and other financial products
Deep understanding of the stock brokerage business
Experience managing and cultivating relationships with HNIs Individuals, institutional clients, and retail investors
At least 5 years of leadership experience in a supervisory or managerial role
Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards, including SEC, NGX, and CIS
Excellent communication, presentation, and reporting skills
Charismatic and confident, with the ability to close deals and lead high performing sales teams
