Position Summary

We are offering you the opportunity to join us on permanent contract. The position is based in Nigeria.
The Construction Superintendent will oversee and coordinate all on-site civil construction activities for a major gas extraction site development project in Nigeria. This includes the construction of core infrastructure, foundations, roads, drainage systems, utilities, and the residential base camp (base-vie) for workers and staff.
The successful candidate will ensure that all works are executed in accordance with the project schedule, budget, and quality and safety standards, while managing daily interfaces between subcontractors, client representatives, and the project management team.
Responsibilities
The position we are offering involves the following main tasks:
Supervise and coordinate civil construction works, including earthworks, concrete structures, utilities, roads, and living quarters (base-vie);
Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and international construction standards;
Manage subcontractors and ensure timely progress in line with the project schedule;
Monitor construction activities to ensure quality assurance and adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards;
Conduct site inspections, progress reporting, and coordinate with the project manager, engineering, and procurement teams;
Interface with local stakeholders and support logistics and workforce organization on-site;
Lead daily and weekly site coordination meetings with relevant parties.
Requirements
You have a Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline preferred.
You have at least 10 years of experience in civil construction on large-scale industrial or oil & gas projects.
You have proven experience managing site activities in remote or challenging environments in Africa. An experience in Nigeria is highly desirable.
You have acquired strong technical knowledge of civil works, site infrastructure development, and temporary/permanent camp construction.
You have developped solid understanding of project planning, HSE management, and quality control procedures.
You are recognised for your excellent leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
You are proficient in English, and French is an asset.
