They are is seeking to engage a competent and detail-oriented Human Resource Officer on a two-month, project-based contract, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
The selected candidate will be responsible for executing key HR deliverables aimed at reinforcing operational structure, compliance, and documentation standards.
This role is ideal for a professional with solid experience in human resources management, Nigerian labor laws, SOPs, and HR compliance processes, particularly within structured, deadline-driven environments.
Collaborate with hiring managers to urgently fill critical project roles.
Draft or refine job descriptions and coordinate shortlisting and interview logistics.
Issue offer letters and employment documents aligned with organizational standards.
Lead a structured onboarding process for new hires engaged during the project phase.
Employee Data & Documentation (Compliance Focus):
Conduct a documentation audit to ensure all employee records are complete and compliant.
Digitize and organize existing personnel files for improved accessibility and compliance.
Create templates or SOPs for documentation tracking related to contracts, leaves, and exits.
HR SOPs & Process Optimization:
Review existing HR processes and standard operating procedures.
Recommend and implement improvements to ensure operational efficiency during and after the project.
Support the development of process documents and guides to standardize workflows.
Performance & Accountability Support (Short-Term Metrics):
Set up and coordinate performance check-ins for project staff.
Develop or refine documentation templates for appraisals and feedback.
Support department leads in tracking productivity, behavior, and KPIs during the contract period.
Employee Relations & Workplace Structure:
Provide guidance on workplace conduct and conflict resolution during the project execution.
Document any disciplinary actions or grievances in accordance with policy and Nigerian law.
Ensure a professional and supportive culture is maintained throughout the project cycle.
Payroll & Statutory Setup Support:
Ensure accurate payroll data collection (attendance, leaves, etc.) specific to project staff.
Coordinate with Finance to ensure prompt and compliant salary and benefits processing.
Align staff documentation with statutory deductions and contribution records for the project duration.
HR Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure that all HR activities during the two-month period comply with Nigerian labor laws.
Prepare comprehensive reports at the end of the contract, including recruitment outcomes, compliance status, and HR process reviews.
Support internal audits or external HR-related reviews tied to the project.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 2 – 3 years’ relevant HR experience, preferably in construction or real estate.
Solid knowledge of Nigerian labor laws, HR documentation standards, and compliance practices.
Experience developing and implementing HR SOPs and managing project-based HR deliverables.
Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management tools.
Relevant certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM) is an added advantage.
