Job Description
This candidate will be responsible for the effective management of Automation Projects and the training of the Robotics and Automation curriculum in the classroom and laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing and updating curriculum and laboratory projects on some of the following topics:
Managing Automation Projects
Programmable Logic Controllers
Ladder Logic
Industry 4.0
Industrial Networking
Electricity/ Electronics
Automation
Manufacturing
Autodesk Inventor
Troubleshooting Methods
Instrumentation and Controls
C Programming
Vision Systems
Conduct classroom and shop training utilizing proper instructional techniques, practices and following the approved curriculum
Utilize equipment and training aids in daily lessons
Report all damaged or missing instructional equipment
Ensure that classroom and shop areas are kept clean, orderly and promote a learning environment
Maintain and record student attendance and grades
Prepare class lessons and test in a timely manner
Design training aids and mock-ups in area of instructor expertise
Administer tests and make-up tests per MIAT procedures manual
Ensure that students follow all established policies, procedures, and safety practices
Ensure that a professional training environment is always maintained in the classroom and shop areas
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Education or Assistant Director of Education
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Associate degree required
10 years prior experience in the field required
5 years prior experience in training preferred
Autodesk Inventor experience preferred
Programmable Logic Control experience preferred
Industrial Networking experience a plus
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to teach students of various ages and diverse backgrounds
Effectively Manage Automation projects
Able to work productively and communicate effectively with students, faculty and staff
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word and Excel required)
Must be able to deal responsibly with confidential information
Must be personable, energetic and have a customer service orientation
Must be self-motivated
Must be able to work alone or with a team
Performance Standards:
Instructors will be evaluated on their ability to promote and implement the objective of the school
Assure that the curriculum is adhered to, and delivered with motivation and enthusiasm
Proper monitoring of all equipment, supplies and tools to ensure the safety of the students and staff on projects
Ensure that student morale is maintained at a high level
Maintain a good standing on student and lab equipment evaluations
All internal and external reports and forms have been accurately completed and submitted in a timely fashion
Maintain an annual average of 95% student retention
Instructor evaluations will be done twice a year by management
Instructors evaluations will be done by students every quarter
Working Conditions:
Majority of time spent in education environment
Work will consist an 8-hour day, 75% teaching and 25% administration
Appropriate safety measures must be followed
Exposure to chemicals that are standard to the industry.
