Provost at the Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti

Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, ljero-Ekiti was established by the Ekiti State Government Law (Re-enactment) No 16, 2019. It is located along Epe Road, Ijero-Ekiti, about a 50-minute drive from the state capital, Ado Ekiti. The Institution was translated from the erstwhile School of Health Technology in January 2011 and was borne out of the need to produce qualified middle-level Health Professionals who will render Primary Health Care Services, in line with the Global Concept of Community Health.

Details

• The Provost is the Chief Academic, Administrative, and Accounting Officer of the College.
• He/She is authorised to exercise general control over both Staff and Students of the College, subject to the law establishing the College and under the general supervision of the Governing Council.

Qualities and Qualifications

• The candidate for the post of Provost is expected to possess the following academic qualifications and personal qualities. 
• Must possess a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in a relevant discipline
• The candidate must have 15 years of cognate experience in Teaching, Research, and Higher Institution Administration.
• Must be a Chief Lecturer in a Polytechnic/cognate post in a University.
• Must not be more than Sixty (60) years of age by 2nd October, 2025.
• Must have copious Publications in peer-reviewed, reputable and impact factor journals as well as papers presented at Conferences, Seminars or Workshops. Must be of high repute, respected, competent, and with proven integrity.
• Must provide evidence of membership of a reputable professional body in Nigeria.
• Must be able to attract Research Grants and development facilities to the College.
• Must be a fair-minded and dynamic individual with an impeccable reputation.
• Must be morally sound and free from financial embarrassment.
• Must be one who does not pursue racial, ethnic, gender, political, religious or other sectional interest. Must have a medical certificate of fitness from a Government Hospital.
• Must be proficient in information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Terms of Appointment and Conditions of Service

• The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years- Non-renewable. 

Remuneration

• The salary is consolidated and comparable to what obtains in Tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
• The appointee shall enjoy other benefits of Office as may be approved from time to time by the Governing Council.
