Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Oshodi - Apapa, Lagos

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Job Summary

• We are hiring a Junior Accountant to support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring project costs, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports.
• The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Record daily transactions including sales, purchases, cash inflows, and outflows in the accounting system.
• Post and reconcile general ledger entries accurately.
• Maintain and manage subsidiary ledgers (e.g. equipment rental, materials inventory).
• Apply cash receipts and reconcile customer accounts promptly.
• Follow up on overdue invoices and escalate accounts receivable issues where necessary.
• Reconcile vendor statements and process supplier payments.
• Allocate expenses and costs to specific projects and materials.
• Monitor budget vs. actual expenditures and provide variance analysis.
• Generate project cost reports for project managers on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and other management reports.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and controls.

Job Requirements

• 3 to 5 years relevant experience in Finance, Accounting, and Tax Management.
• Experience Level: 3–5 Years (in Finance, Accounting, and Tax Management)
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation and general accounting principles.
• Must have a working understanding of double-entry accounting, accruals, and job-cost accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting softwaresuch as QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP, and strong Excel skills.
• Analytical with keen attention to detail and ability to identify and explain variances.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines, especially for month-end reporting.
• Team player who collaborates effectively across finance, operations, and project teams.
• Ethical and professional, maintaining high levels of confidentiality and integrity.
• Age Requirement: 27 years and above.
• Must reside in or around Oshodi, Apapa, or nearby locations.

Salary

• N150,000 Monthly (Net)
