Concern for Women and Children Development Foundation (COWACDI) is a woman-led organization born out of passion for the well-being of Women and Children in Nigeria. It has a special interest in mitigating the suffering of vulnerable persons (mostly Women & Children) in times of crisis. Currently, the organization has focused its attention on the North East of Nigeria with special emphasis on Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states (the BAY states) due to the decade-old crises. COWACDI intervenes through a community-based approach in addressing Gender-Based Violence prevention and response programmes, child protection, peace-building programmes, and empowerment of youth and women. COWACDI operates with full respect for humanitarian law and works with concrete policies and principles of international standards such as humanity, impartiality, neutrality and independence, and accountability to the affected population.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Enterprises Development Officer
Location: Adamawa
Job Description
The Enterprise Development Officer will support small and micro enterprises by delivering entrepreneurship training, business coaching, and linking beneficiaries with financial and market opportunities.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
Identify and assess business needs of project participants.
Deliver business management training.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders and sectors for information sharing.
Provide one-on-one coaching to entrepreneurs.
Support business plan development.
Monitor enterprise growth and document progress.
Conduct market assessments.
Facilitate business linkages.
Organize trade fairs or exhibitions.
Prepare monthly reports on enterprise development.
Participate in training of trainers and project coordination meetings.
Support integration of gender-sensitive approaches.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
Training or certification in business development or entrepreneurship preferred.
Minimum of 2 - 3 years relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with an NGO or development organization.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Required Competencies and Skills:
Knowledge of small business operations and market dynamics.
Excellent training and facilitation skills.
Data collection and report writing skills.
Proficiency in local languages is an asset.

Good skill in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Fluency in local language
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
Other:
An appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment, confirmation of all documents, and security clearances.
The appointment is subject to funding confirmation.
